Been a Big fan since 89... and I'm not sold on this

Como é bom ver e ouvir novamente Dave Navarro na guitarra do Jane's Addiction ! Quando estiveram no Brasil em 2023 o guitarrista era Josh Klinghoffer pra mim muito ruim. Ouvi a banda pela primeira vez quando estive em Los Angeles em junho de 1994 e nunca mais deixei de acompanhar .

I love that the Perry here is the same guy, Lyricist as the 1980’s - big kids at heart write the BEST songs! “let’s make a come back, I like that” “let’s start a Revolution” “we need the Women too” Always the gentleman! Redeem us indeed. Redeem the F*ck out of this crazy World in 2024. Love you guys, you rock!

It sounds like they wrote the four parts separately and mixed it together right on the spot.

Honestly, this has sat with me for a few days, and I am not impressed. The lyrical content is sub-par, I felt like there was nothing said. The vocals should be lower in the mix, and the instrumentation is notably quiet compared to them. The drums are way too muddy, the cymbal crashes are way too muffled, I feel like the cymbals are indiscernible, I almost didn't notice them in all the fuzzy wall of sound distortion behind the vocals. Some creative guitar work, but no melody to be heard from them. The song didn't feel like it had a structure at all, which is baffling. Jane's isn't good because they are themselves, which is the attitude I feel like they have with this song. They were good because they made good music. This isn't good music. This is beneath Just Because in terms of lyrical quality, and I gave the benefit of the doubt it was possible for the quality of Jane's to dip below that song.

Hope this is one that grows on you, because first run through it sounds choppy and contrived... That said, I really was stoked to pull it up and happy they're together

I like this song except "the Bono Vox vocals part"

A fan since 1987 when the vibe was challenging the mainstream rock of the time. So pleased to have Navarro back (not a pleasant illness) and Avery adds to the tribal rhythms of Perkins but….. is it the mix or just to muddled ? There’s just a magic ingredient missing. Lyrics are not where Perry should be going (a cliche of a cliche). Hopeful for a clear and powerful album.

A verse section that cool deserved a way better chorus section. Just my opinion, but the chorus felt generic and lazy after that sick groove in the verse and break.

Every piece of the pie was so important to the sound of Jane’s. Eric’s bass lines were an integral part of the sound that was missing from everything released after he left the band. Dave and Stephan are really ripping too

Eric should really be writing the lyrics at this point. He's always been an amazing songwriter. I love this song, but it's true that the lyrics are weak. However, I can't help but feel it's because this is Perry's apology of sorts, and was likely hard for him to write. Apologizing to people you've hurt is never easy. Either way, despite the subpar lyrics, I absolutely love this song!
